Hillary Hits a Homerun at the DNC

Mrs. Clinton seems to function best when the pressure isn't so direct. If she had given speeches this good while she was running against Obama, she might have won.

Some have tried to criticize her for not singing Obama's praises more directly. However, Obamamania is real and that's been done to death. And it'll be done to death some more before this presidential race is over.

Others have said that Clinton should have issued refutations of what she said while running against Obama. However, this would have rung even hollow-er than the usual political rhetoric and undermined the meat of her speech. Hillary needed to do exactly what she did.

She set her sights on relocating the focus of her supporters from her as a person to the health and success of the Democratic Party.

Then she became more specific and aimed the hearts and minds of her supporters at the issues that all democrats claim to believe in--keeping food on the table for the poor, healthcare for everyone, and keeping our young people from dying in ill conceived wars, etc. She asked her supporters to think about what it is they truly support--her as a person or the changes that the Democratic Party needs to make in order to get our country back on track. She made making the right choice for president, Barack Obama, a moral imperative.

Nobody could have, or should have, asked for anything more from her.
